FAQs

What Is Sound by Bose?

Sound by Bose technology brings premium Bose-licensed audio technologies to Crusher 1080 ANC. This includes Bose QuietControl Active Noise Canceling, Bose TrueSpatial audio, Bose WaveForm Audio Engine, and Bose SpeechClarity Voice Pickup Technology. Together, these technologies deliver clear, natural sound, powerful noise canceling, immersive audio, and crystal-clear calls while preserving the unique Crusher Bass experience.

What Is Crusher Bass?

Crusher Bass is Skullcandy's patented sensory bass technology that lets you feel low frequencies in addition to hearing them. Unlike traditional headphones, Crusher uses dedicated bass drivers to create a physical bass sensation that adds impact and immersion to music, movies, and games. Use the Crusher wheel or Skullcandy App to adjust the intensity from subtle enhancement to mind-bending bass.

What Is Personal Sound?

Personal Sound by Mimi is advanced sound personalization technology built directly into compatible Skullcandy headphones. Mimi is a global leader in sound personalization technology for consumer audio devices. The technology adapts audio to your specific hearing profile, not a generic preset. The result: Clearer detail, restored audio frequencies you may be missing, safer listening over time and a more immersive experience.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Crystal Clear Audio?

Crusher 1080 ANC features the Bose WaveForm Audio Engine, which helps keep sound full, balanced, and smooth at any volume. WaveForm automatically optimizes audio performance so bass stays powerful, vocals stay clear, and distortion stays out of the mix, whether you're listening quietly or turning it up.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Superior Noise Canceling?

Crusher 1080 ANC features Bose QuietControl Active Noise Canceling technology. Using six microphones and advanced adaptive processing, QuietControl reduces distractions and unwanted noise for a calm, focused listening experience. It's designed and validated for real-world environments, helping you stay immersed in your music, movies, and podcasts wherever you are.

What Gives Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones Immersive Audio?

Crusher 1080 ANC uses Bose's TrueSpatial spatial audio technology, making you feel like you're sitting in the middle of an epic surround sound system. That means music, games, and movies have isolated sounds that come from specific places, like footsteps from behind or an explosion to your left. The result is an immersive 3D effect that's like nothing else.

How Do I Turn Crusher Bass On/Off for Crusher 1080 ANC?

You can adjust Crusher Bass using the Crusher wheel located on the earcup or through the Skullcandy App. Turn the wheel or move the Crusher control in the app to increase or decrease the bass intensity. To turn Crusher Bass off completely, set the control to its lowest level.

How Do I Turn Active Noise Canceling (ANC) On/Off for Crusher 1080 ANC?

You can control Bose QuietControl modes through the Skullcandy App or using the customizable button controls on your headphones.

By default:
• Press the ANC button up to enable Quiet Mode (ANC On)
• Press the ANC button down once to turn ANC Off
• Press the ANC button down again to enable Aware Mode (Transparency)

You can also switch between Quiet, Aware, and Off modes directly in the Skullcandy App.

How Long Does the Battery Last for Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones?

When fully charged, Crusher 1080 ANC headphones have up to 60 hours of battery life depending on whether active noise cancellation is used. So one charge can easily get you through heavy use during a full week.

How quick can I charge Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones?

The rapid charge feature of Crusher 1080 ANC headphones enables you to get up to 4 hours of battery in just 10 minutes of charging.

What are Crusher Profiles?

Crusher Profiles give you three distinct ways to experience Crusher bass: Full, Balanced, and Tight. Each profile changes the character and feel of the bass, so you can choose the experience that hits right for you.
Find Crusher Profiles in the Skullcandy App. You can switch between profiles anytime to change the way your Crusher bass feels. You can also adjust Crusher intensity separately using the Crusher dial in the app or the physical Crusher wheel on your headphones.

Overall rating: 4.196262 / 5 from 214 reviews.

I love it✋😎😎😎. Of course

"I love it✋😎😎😎. Of course with firmware 1.5 and specifically 1.2 ( the tight bass perfect touch, but the Balance and full difference isn't quite fine tuned; I mean the balance crush its not in the middle of them🦆🦆🦆). Expected a bit more true spacial sounds , but that's maybe because of my Asus Rog theta7.1 ... Build and functionality 5⭐... Oh for the stay aware function would love a touch to for future ( vorks but only low volumes 1/3 at best) 🎶."

— Adrian O. (5/5)

Pros Quite good bass, feels

"Pros Quite good bass, feels very premium in quality, heavy headset more like a studio or sit still headset. Cons: Creaks if I chew or have to much head motion, ANC isn’t as good as I expected (still good tho) Overall an amazing headset, but for everyday use/ some active use then not worth the upgrade from crusher evo, unless you have another headset for being active"

— Ulf J. (4/5)

The headphones perform brilliantly,the sound

"The headphones perform brilliantly, the sound is clear and pleasant. It’s a real pleasure to listen to one’s favorite songs in better quality."

— Dominik K. (5/5)

— Bastian M. (2/5)

Excellent headphones, the build quality

"Excellent headphones, the build quality is really good and the Bose effects are great. ANC is on point, pairing with multiple devices is easy and things like spatial audio work well. And... the crusher bass. You really need to experience it."

— Daniel C. (5/5)

ANC is awesome, but the

"ANC is awesome, but the bass just isn’t enough. Compared to the Skullcandy Crusher Evos, the amount of bass on the Evos actually used to hurt my ears sometimes. The 1080s are great for daily use, but if you wanna enjoy bass-heavy music, sometimes they just don’t feel bassy enough, so I switch back to my Evos when I’m in the mood for more bass."

— Mateusz K. (4/5)

Blasting

"These headphones are made to be played loud. The bass hits hard and deep without completely drowning out the rest of the sound. I mainly use them for gaming and the immersion is fantastic, especially with engine sounds, deep V8 rumble and turbo noise. They’re comfortable, powerful and just fun to listen to. If you like your audio with some serious punch, these deliver."

— sergej s. (5/5)

A bit of a letdown

"A bit of a letdown compared to how big an upgrade the crusher 2 was, especially now that skullcandy basically officially gave up on wear detection, turning it off by default"

— Aron T. (3/5)

Every time I change the

"Every time I change the ANC/stay aware settings slide button, the bass wheel moves with it by the slightest breeze of air. Sometimes the bass wheel even moves up/down just with shocks of me for example laying down on a bench in the gym… It’s also difficult to change the volume or skip a song Without pressing the play/pause button…"

— Pieter C. (4/5)

I love the Crusher 1080

"I love the Crusher 1080 a lot! I have the whole range from Skullcandy headphones and love the 1080 the most! It has a little less crusher bass then the EVO series but I didn’t use the full EVO power anyway. It’s more in balance now."

— Roderick B. (5/5)
